Human Growth Hormone - A Practical Application

Human growth hormone (HGH)   is a protein made in the pituitary gland. HGH is not only responsible for growth. It also plays an important role throughout an adult’s life by helping to regulate metabolism—the body’s ability to turn food into energy. Many bodybuilders use HGH once they have hit a wall in their development with steroid use alone.

HGH the next level?

HGH is the next level for more experienced users of anabolic steroids. If you want to take your body to the next level, HGH  may be the next step. HGH  has clearly been shown to increase muscle mass and to enhance fat loss while improving recovery and even helping with injury repair, especially cartilage. It’s almost as if HGH  restores ones youth. This is exactly what the anti-aging industry believes HGH does. In their writings it’s common to see them promote HGH as the fountain of youth. Typically the goal is to replace hormone levels so replacement doses are commonly prescribed for anti-aging purposes. This usually falls in the range of 1-3iu HGH daily. Male patients are usually screened to see if other hormones need to be replaced such as Testosterone. Up to 200mg of Testosterone weekly may be administered.

The fountain of youth for the aging

The following claims are made about HGH and have been consistently reported by users for anti-aging purposes.

  • Lowers fat stores and increases lean muscle mass
  • Invigorates skin tone and suppleness
  • Augments bone density to avoid osteoporosis
  • Boosts brain power and increases memory retention
  • Heightens the drive and interest to have sex
  • Enhances the well-being and health of the whole body, both physically and mentally
  • Assists in having a restful sleep
  • Perks up the mind and reduces fatigue and depression

Practical Application

Obviously the anti-aging claims of HGH are desirable but what about the gym rat or high level competitor who wants to utilize this growth promoting hormone? For anti-aging purposes, doses as low as 2iu daily will work but if losing body fat and packing on muscle are your goals then the lower HGH doses are just not enough.

It is my opinion that maximal fat burning HGH doses start somewhere around 4-6iu daily in men. For maximal fat burning  and adding maximal muscle mass that range appears to be around 8-12iu HGH daily. No matter if your goal is anti-aging, fat lose or maximum fat lose and increased muscle mass, I recommend at least 5 months of HGH administration. HGH is a long term commitment and there is a lesser benefit to using HGH  for shorter durations. This can be quite expensive so many users will skip days during the week. For example, the 5 on 2 off protocol is commonly used to get the desired effects but at the same time reduce cost. Essentially the user administers a daily dose Mon-Fri and then dose not administer a dose on the weekends. Another popular protocol is only using HGH every other day. The EOD method has some scientific support so it would be my first recommendation for HGH users who want to reduce cost.

What are the possible side effects of HGH?

You may experience discomfort, soreness, or redness where HGH is injected.

Contact your doctor immediately if you experience:

  • Ongoing injection site discomfort
  • Curvature of the spine (scoliosis)
  • Joint pain
  • Puffy hands and/or feet (caused by fluid retention)
  • Changes in vision, a bad headache, or nausea with or without vomiting
  • Hip or knee pain
  • A need to limp when you walk
  • Pain in wrist (carpal tunnel)
  • Allergic reaction

Many users report a synergy when using HGH and anabolic steroids together. It is commonly reported that the fat burning effects and gains in LBM are much more profound with HGH and Testosterone. Therefore in order to maximize the benefits of HGH I would not use it alone and highly recommend stacking HGH with anabolic steroids. Testosterone has been proven to reduce body fat and increase LBM in a dose dependent relationship up to 600mg weekly. Therefore I recommend that experienced male users seeking performance enhancement administer at least 600mg of Testosterone weekly stacked with 5iu HGH daily for a duration of 5 months. This stack will illicit significant increases in lean body mass and a significant reduction in body fat if nutrition, training and recovery are properly in place.

Study confirms long term benefits of tamoxifen

Women with oestrogen receptor positive breast cancer who take Tamoxifen for 10 years halve their subsequent risk of dying, according to new research.

The Cancer Research UK study shows taking Tamoxifen for longer than the recommended five years provides greater protection against breast cancer recurrence and reduces breast cancer deaths. The ‘aTTom’ study looked at almost 7,000 women with breast cancer who, after five years of taking Tamoxifen, either continued taking the drug for another five years or stopped treatment. Among women who took Tamoxifen for 10 years, 25 %  fewer had recurrences of breast cancer and 23 %  fewer died, compared to women who took the drug for just five years.

Dr Daniel Rea, clinical lead researcher based at the University of Birmingham, said: “These results are important as they establish that giving tamoxifen for longer than the current standard of five years significantly cuts the risk of breast cancer returning. “Doctors are now likely to recommend continuing Tamoxifen for an extra five years and this will result in many fewer breast cancer recurrences and breast cancer deaths worldwide. Tamoxifen is cheap and widely available so this could have an immediate impact.”

Around 75 % of breast cancers are oestrogen receptor positive and may benefit from hormone therapy. The female sex hormone oestrogen encourages breast cancers to grow by activating oestrogen receptors. Tamoxifen blocks these receptors, reducing the chance of breast cancer returning after surgery or developing in the other breast.

Despite the benefits of  tamoxifen in preventing breast cancers from returning, it does have side effects. Women taking tamoxifen can experience side effects similar to menopausal symptoms, such as night sweats and hot flushes. Rare but serious side effects of tamoxifen include increased risk of endometrial cancer (cancer of the lining of the uterus), blood clots, and stroke.

In this study no increase in the incidence of stroke was observed with 10 years of Tamoxifen therapy, though endometrial cancer risk was higher in this arm. Endometrial cancer is often detected early, when it can often be treated successfully. The researchers estimate that for every endometrial cancer death that occurs as a side effect of long-term Tamoxifen, there would be 30 deaths from breast cancer prevented.

Professor Richard Gray, based at the University of Oxford and presenting the aTTom results at ASCO, said: “Five years of Tamoxifen is already an excellent treatment but there have been concerns that giving it for longer might not produce extra benefits and could even be harmful. The aTTom study establishes that the benefits of taking Tamoxifen for longer greatly outweigh the risks.”

Kate Law, director of clinical research at Cancer Research UK, said: “Large clinical trials like aTTom are vitally important to understand how drugs such as tamoxifen work and how best to use them. We need these sorts of studies so we can be sure the benefits from cancer drugs outweigh the side-effects that they may have.”

Nandrolone at its most efficient

Chemical athletes who want to use nandrolone to build up their muscle mass are best off choosing a preparation with:
  • the longest ester possible
  • the highest concentration possible
  • injecting it in their gluteus muscle instead of in their shoulders.
The researchers did an experiment with 23 healthy, non-obese men aged between 18 and 40. They divided the men up into 4 groups and injected each group with a different nandrolone preparation. All preparations contained 100 mg nandrolone. Then the researchers measured the amount of nandrolone in the men’s blood each day for the next 32 days.

The first group were given an injection of 100 mg nandrolone phenylpropionate in their buttock. Phenylpropionate is an ester that does not remain in the blood as long as decanoate. The 100 mg was in an ampoule of 4ml groundnut oil.

The second group got the same kind of injection, but containing nandrolone decanoate, the steroid in Deca-Durabolin

The third group also got an injection containing 100 mg nandrolone decanoate in the buttocks, but this time the nandrolone was concentrated in 1 ml groundnut oil.

And finally, the fourth group were injected with 100 mg nandrolone decanoate, dissolved in 1 ml groundnut oil, in the shoulder muscle.

Nandrolone phenylpropionate gives a rapid peak in the blood, but the peak subsides after 4-5 days. Nandrolone decanoate doesn’t cause a peak, but remains present for much longer in the blood.

More nandrolone enters the blood if you inject it in a more concentrated form: 1 ml instead of 4 ml.

Injecting into the buttocks results in more nandrolone in the blood than injecting into the shoulders.

10 Rules For Raising Testosterone Levels

Testosterone is the most significant of hormones, being vital for physical fitness and wellness. For both men and women, low testosterone can lead to fat gain, low muscle mass, and physical weakness. Fortunately, there are a number of simple ways to improve testosterone for a better looking physique and peak health. There’s no need to take testosterone or other drugs.

Check it out:
  • Your pre-workout testosterone levels predict how much weight you’ll be able to lift in the big lifts such as the squat and the bench press.
  • Athletes with higher testosterone levels before a competition or race are more likely to win.
  • A woman who is closer to the upper limit of her testosterone threshold may have an advantage over other women in developing strength. Same goes for men.
  • After age 30 is the vital time to attend to testosterone levels for men because it begins to drop off precipitously. Women should also shore up hormone balance to avoid body fat gain and muscle loss down the road.
Whether you need to optimize testosterone to win a championship or just want to be lose body fat and get fit, here are ten rules for making it happen.
  1. Lift Weights, Do Sprints
  2. Eat A Lower Carb, Higher Fat, Whole Food Diet
  3. Eat a Wide Variety of Animal Proteins, Favoring Those from the Sea. Animal protein supports testosterone production because it provides vitamins and nutrients in the form that is most absorbable to the body.
  4. Meditate or Perform a DAILY Stress Reduction Practice
  5. Optimize Circadian Rhythms
  6. Optimize Zinc Levels
  7. Take Magnesium
  8. Optimize Your Vitamin D
  9. Ruthlessly Avoid BPA & Similar Endocrine Disruptors
  10. Eliminate Alcohol & Protect Your Liver
